i have decided to do low-carb for a few days. we are having a big birthday bash on saturday (big 3-0), so i will do it until then. now, i know people have such an aversion to low-carb, but i am not hitting atkins induction or anything. just lean meats and veggies for a few days, then maybe working in some whole grains and brown rice. i just need to get this sugar out. sugar, margaritas, mexican food….

but…if this really does kick in some weight loss…i could see doing something like south beach just to give me a little jump start. it has to be better than what i have been eating. i am also having the goal of working out today. i really need to schedule it in, just like i would schedule anything else i would do that was important. does exercise really seem that important that we need to schedule it? i think so. in reality, i think most people think it’s not. people do not put their health first. we schedule hair appointments, dates, sex. but what about working out? what about something that takes care of our bodies on the outside and in. this is my goal for the next week: to take my health seriously. see it as priority. realizing that exercise needs to be on my schedule as much as anything else.

we had to make a move….

i was really unhappy with the server i was using for the blog, so i have switched to wordpress.

this past weekend we had a birthday party and company until yesterday. can we talk about how hard it is to eat well when people are in? is that hard for anyone else? i think just knowing people will be in my house, let’s me think that i am off the diet hook. today is our first back to normal day. i have had coffee so far and that is it. i am not really doing this on purpose, i think my system is just full from the weekend of cupcakes and whatever else we ate!

how is everyone else doing? i feel like it’s really summer now and that i need to get on things. not necessarily for the summer clothes, but for the fall. fall and winter are my favorite fashion time with scarves and long coats; boots and turtlenecks….that is what i am trying to get back in shape for!
