<p>so, instead of just doing semi-low carb, i think i might actually do old school, atkins induction. 20 carbs a day, meat, veggies and cheese. i think i am going to start doing a weekly picture post, i hope. maybe that will keep me a little more accountable to have a photo on the net&#8230;</p>
<p>so, it&#8217;s monday, i am starting atkins induction. we finally got a wii fit this weekend. did you know it weighs you and tells you how fat you are? uh huh, how&#8217;s that for motivation?</p>

<p>i have a few options&#8230;</p>
<p><span id="more-84"></span>Option 1: juice fast.</p>
<p>in college, this would have happened. i always did a juice fast after a bit of indulgence. being a teacher, this is not going to work. also, having three kids, it&#8217;s not going to happen. juice fasting is a great way to detox and get rid of some water weight, but it zaps your energy at first.</p>
<p>Option 2: keep counting points</p>
<p>i need a fast fix to get me back to being satisfied with my points. fast, being the key word.</p>
<p>Option 3: low carb</p>
<p>little energy slump at first, but i feel like a few days of protein shakes and meat and veggies can do me good.</p>
<p>the winner is the low carb. i&#8217;ll let you know if it gets me back down.</p>
<p>i&#8217;m off to watch the globes.</p>

<p>so i got on the scale this week, just to see how hard hitting the 2 week christmas break was. and it was. 6 pounds. lord. i  don&#8217;t think it was eating as much as it was drinking. i had someone to meet for drinks or people over for drinks almost every day of the break. and don&#8217;t get me started on the spiked eggnog.</p>
<p>i have some damage control to do.</p>
<p>i think one thing that let me kinda lose of the break, was not weighing in every morning like i usually do. mentally, that gets me on the right track, first thing in the AM. i totally avoided the scale. and now, i gotta re-lose some weight. i know a lot is water, but it has to go, so i can get back to a real loss, not a re-lose.</p>
<p>there is a new workout that i started doing. you know that really in-your-face trainer from the biggest loser? jillian michaels? she has a dvd called <a title="30 day shred" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00127RAJY" target="_blank">&#8220;30 day shred&#8221;</a>. it is broken into segments, 1 2 or 3. you start at 1, each level is only twenty minutes, but a grueling 20.  i could not sit down easily for 2 days after starting it. but, i can feel the changes and am going to measure before moving to section 2. i think you do each section for 10 days&#8230;i&#8217;ll let you know!</p>

<p>let me catch you up&#8230;</p>
<p>blogging and working is really hard for me. going back to work in general was hard, but i feel better about it now. my hormones have settled down, and thus, my emotional rollercoaster is now more like a tilt-a-whirl that tips once a month. on the diet front, i have found something that really works consistently for me: weight watchers. i love low carb&#8230;and i love body for life. i have kind of incorporated those meals into me daily point talleys.  balancing my carb and protein makes me feel great and stay fuller, longer. but, being able to count points lets me feel more in control and know the calories of the foods i am putting in my mouth. doing this, i have lost about 18 pounds since october 31.</p>
<p>that was my weight loss total on december 19&#8230;have not really weighed since then.  and i won&#8217;t until the end of the week. i did not  really count points over christmas, and drank quite a bit. so, i&#8217;m giving myself a break until friday.</p>
<p>christmas here was wonderful. hope your&#8217;s was the same.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>well, dr. atkins seems to be helping me, any water weight is now gone. i woke up this morning and was 3 pounds lighter&#8230;which has kind of given me a second wind to keep going with the induction. besides the eggs, i was all lean meat and green veggies yesterday. was not even very hungry. i know atkins is still kind of&#8230;controversial. but, i am eating lean meats, veggies&#8230;.nothing high fat. i will get back with BFL at some point, but this is giving me a nice little jump. today&#8217;s meal will probably look a little like yesterday&#8217;s, but today i&#8217;m going to add some whey protein shakes.</p>
<p>today&#8217;s workout is a FUN one: <a href="http://www.corerhythms.com/">core rhythms</a>. it&#8217;s a workout/dance dvd and you can feel your legs and waist firming while doing it. i have found that exercise is helping me feel better with the depression. i am trying to stop by the Dr. tomorrow to find out my next step.</p>

<p>i have just a few days left before i go back to school for inservice, and i thought, well, i&#8217;m just gonna go for it and do atkins induction til i go back. i know i can loose the most that way, still holding a little water weight from the BC fiasco..so i will post my meals and moves over there, even if it&#8217;s not BFL. this is just for now. i need a jump.</p>

<p>so, as some know, i was starting yaz a few weeks ago. having never really been on BC, i had no idea what i would feel like. i was worried about water retention, but figured i could have handled that. what i could not handle were the emotions that went with it.</p>
<p>i have been an emotional wreck since starting yaz. crying for hours, for little reasons. it&#8217;s like i could not control it. and, even sticking to the bfl plan, i was retaining water. i called my dr, told him what was going on. he told me to get off the pills and we could find another one that worked better for me. i told him maybe the best pill is no pill at all. so, i am off the hormones. i feel like there are traces still in my body, and my weight is starting to come down. it is just something i can&#8217;t handle right now. i start back at school soon, which is emotional in itself having to leave the baby for the first time, and i need no artificial hormones making it worse. i have felt depressed beyond belief. my dr. told me to keep an eye on it, mentioned late-onset postpartum depression, which can hit as late as 8-10 months. i am hoping it&#8217;s just the yaz. but, i do feel down and not at all like myself.</p>
<p>on to the dieting&#8230;had a good day yesterday and a great workout today on a (drumroll): empty stomach! was really happy about that. ate some wonderful protein afterwards with my carb portion and lots of water. trying to think about working about before i start back to school. since we have to LEAVE the house at 7:15, i guess i would need to get up about 5, workout, shower, get 3 kids ready&#8230;.so, thinking workouts will happen at 4:30 after we all get home from school. hopefully i can time my midday snack and work out three hours after. today&#8217;s exercise really lifted my spirits&#8230;hopefully this will help with my moods.</p>
<p>turkey burgers on ww buns tonight for dinner. then a shake right before bed. as my eating gets back to normal, i feel like my life is, too.</p>
<p>hope everyone is doing fantastic on their diets and workout plans. i hope to hear from y&#8217;all! i&#8217;ve missed my bloggy friends and am glad to be back!</p>
